"THE WRONG GHOST" by C.L. Ragsdale

It's not often a book cover captures the heroine of a story, so true to what I imagined her to look like, as one of our own contributors, Traci Hilton, did for C.L. Ragsdale's "THE WRONG GHOST."

Irene Waters, a lovely young brunette, is a no-nonsense journalist for The Reboot Files, a reporting outfit for paranormal activities. Irene has a past, although innocent in the matter, but does her job well finding out the truth based on facts.

If you like a good cozy mystery, and you must or you wouldn't be reading this post, you will enjoy this series. Cindy Ragsdale writes with humor underpinned with Christian values, which speaks to a great many of us.

  1. @Cindy--Irene is a blonde! lol. Isn't it funny how we all see things so differently when we read books? I love that each time a new reader opens a book it becomes new in a way it can only be for them!

  2. You are right Traci, Irene is a blond. Mostly because tall good looking blonds run in my family. I have pictures of my sisters, I can prove it! But in Nancy Jill's defense I don't point that out maybe as much as I should. I may mention it once in each book. Irene is not constantly "flipping her beautiful pony tail". But that's because I don't do a lot of descriptions in the story.
I thought of the girl on the cover as The Ghost, Virginia. Sad, beautiful and oh so wrong.
Thank you for the recommendation Nancy Jlll, and thank you for the awesome cover Traci. That's right Tracy did the covers for all my books. Wait until you see what she came up with for The Great Scarecrow Invasion. It is fabulous!

  5. Thanks Nancy! I think you'll like it. : )

@Deb--I didn't know the secret would get out about the covers, but after I read Cindy's review I realized that she did need to put it out there before she gave her opinion of the books.

Cindy's books were such a surprising treat that I really couldn't help myself. I have had so many incredible authors walk beside me as I have pursued my career. I knew I could offer her something that could potentially help her books get the attention they deserve (it doesn't always happen that covers help, but sometimes it does) and so I had to do it. :) I'm not a great designer by any means, but the Reboot Series is so fun and has so many great images wrapped up in the storyline that the covers almost made themselves!

The Harbinger of Retribution was a bit of a challenge because I couldn't find any image that matched the theme I had put together for the series (I did not create the original images!) and also suited the story of the cursed statue. In the end I think the black and white background looks cool, sets the mood, and plays on the idea of duality and good vs evil. I might be over thinking it, but when you can't find a literal image to suit, sometimes over thinking helps. :)

There are a few covers here and there on amazon that I've made when I thought I could help, but for the most part I satisfy my itch to design by putting together my own ads. I don't even make my own covers! lol.

Anyway, it is my fond hope that these will catch readers eye and that Reboot will build some momentum. :)
