As Time Goes By... By Nancy Jill Thames

This has been an interesting week so far. I've labored long and hard revising manuscripts, worked with fellow Cozy Mystery Magazine authors on plans for a special holiday treat for all you followers, and stopped to lend a hand to help other authors on the marketing path. The joy is definately in the journey. I can't think of any better life than the one I enjoy as an author. Except when someone posts an unfavorable review... Even then I remind myself that my books are not for everyone. Which brings me to those reading this post.
How do you find joy in the journey of life? Do you live one day at a time or plan your days, weeks, and months ahead? What about years ahead?
I used to fret until the stress of trying to control my destiny as an author caused me to be unhappy. Who knows what the future will bring? Does worrying about book sales help sell more books? Ah, not really. So I rolled up my sleeves, listened to good advice from seasoned authors and my awesome husband, and dived in to writing the best books I can. And you know what? The plan is working. From time to time fans e-mail me. They tell me they like my books and plan to buy them all. I guess for me there is no greater reward than those words of encouragment.
Whatever you do, whether you're a mom, a grandma, a CEO, or a worker-bee, I hope you'll take each day and live it with joy.

Enjoy your weekend, dear readers.
See you in my books!
