Great First Book for Deborah Malone! Five Stars! |
"Dahlonega" sounds like "bologna" should sound like, but this book is no baloney! The story has all the elements readers like me look for in a cozy mystery - good characters, interesting setting and tight plot. Trixie, Dee Dee and Nana are memorable gals to connect with in the story, from Trixie's beginning a simple job assignment as a reporter, to her battling for her best friend Dee Dee's life as an accused murderer. The bloody axe on the cover stayed with me the whole time! Throw in a little romance and humor for spice, and voila - you have an entertaining read. "Death in Dahlonega" is also rated G which I appreciated. Now, I won't tell you anymore, just read it for yourself. Oh, one other thing (I simply can't resist), the action scene in the bedroom was my favorite part. No - it's not what you may think.
P.S. Good news! Deborah Malone's second book "Murder in Marietta" is due out this fall.
Hmm. All this talk of suspense calls for a bowl of Quick Tortilla Chicken Soup - Yum! The recipe is in the Cozy Kitchen.
