So I'm only two months late on my scheduled launch of Book 7 "The Ruby of Siam."
But there's a reason. I now have a writing coach who won't let me get away with using the wrong words, getting words out of order, or being too graphic in my writing. This woman knows what she's doing...she's written seven books, been a member of American Christian Fiction Writers of America for umpteen years, and has been to untold numbers of writing seminars.
Hopefully, as I improve, more and more readers will discover Jillian Bradley, gardener and tea party hostess extrodinaire, along with her sweet little Yorkie, Teddy. Here's what one reader posted on my website:

- I'm truly hooked on the exploits of Jillian and Teddy. I've read the first 6 and I'm checking daily for the 7th to come out. Congratulations on such a fun and popular series. I'm telling everyone at Fremont Community Church to read your books.

Lee, keep up the word of mouth! Hopefully, "The Ruby of Siam" will launch at the end of next week.
Fingers crossed!!

Hi Nancy. Whatever it takes to get your books to be the way you want them and the best possible writing is what you are doing and that is great. As nice as it is to have each book in a series come along quickly, I know how difficult writing can be and you are experiencing double that effort with a coach. All of us readers will be thrilled when The Ruby of Siam comes out and just think how proud you will be of its perfection!!! Rooting for you and looking forward to each and every book thereafter as well. Keep us the great quality of writing; your readers are delighted with that.
ReplyDeleteHi, Cynthia
DeleteI can't believe I wrote six books pretty much on my own. My goal is update all of them before beginning Book 8. Thanks for the words of encouragement, my friend.

Congrats on the word of mouth! Worth a million, that is! And congrats on finding a coach you really like to work with. I value the coach who leads my crit group so much. He's done wonders for my craft.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to be in such good author company here on CMM. Can't wait to launch our sampler.

A writing coach will make all the difference. Even though I've written 4 books I went to a conference this weekend and I found out I have a long way to go.

"Death in Dahlonega"
"Murder in Marietta"
What a difference it makes to sit with your editor and discuss the changes needing to be made. Looking forward to ACFW conferences like yours.
