Aunt Helen and Uncle Bill's Barn

I'm just too tired to write anything tonight so I'm going to share a couple of my favorite pictures I took of my late Aunt Helen and Uncle Bill's barn. Their home place burned down several years ago and a new house has been built, but there old barn still stands. The last time I visited my childhood memories came flooding back of playing with my cousins. I miss those days! Okay couldn't get but one to load so I hope you enjoy it.

  1. That's a lovely barn! Two summers ago I went to a reunion for my husbands family and the kids got to play in the old barn, jumping into the hay, catching toads and fireflies. All the good midwestern country goodness. Beautiful memories!

  2. I can almost smell the hay...makes me think how important it is for us to be creating fond memories for our children and grandchildren. My husband still longs to live on a lake with a bass boat like the one he remembers as a child visiting his grandpa in Marble Falls, Texas. When we visited the old place a few years ago, actually just drove by, the place was run-down, but the memory of those times still shine in my husband's heart.

  3. That place must hold some amazing stories and make for wonderful memories. I love special places like that from childhood that have the power to transport back... Thank you for sharing it.
